Our next exhibits are Yumiko Kayukawa 'Higashi No Kamisama (God from the East)' in Gallery I and Ben Tour 'Crash & Burn' in Gallery II. If you would like to preview the work for either show please let us know. The opening reception is Saturday July 11th from 6 - 9pm and both artists will be in attendance.
Then in August we have our summer group exhibit. This will include some familiar faces as well as several new artists to the gallery. Artists exhibiting in the summer group show include Candice Tripp, Chloe Early, Cleon Peterson, Damon Soule, Dave Kinsey, Greg Simkins, James Roper, Joe Sorren, Jud Bergeron, Kenji Hirata, Pat Rocha, Robert Hardgrave, Ryan McLennan, Shawn Barber, Stella Im Hultberg, SUB, Sylvia Ji, Tat Ito, Tiffany Bozic, Travis Louie, Tristram Lansdowne & ZAnPon. Giant Robot is proud to host Singing Her To Sleep, an art show featuring the work of Jack Long.
Jack Long grew up in West Chester, Pennsylvania, received his BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2002, and currently resides in Los Angeles. Painting in oils on wood, his work explores human relationships in a narrative setting and draws heavily upon the tradition of storytelling, often utilizing motifs and imagery found in mythology and fairytales.
For the show, Long is preparing a collection of paintings celebrating everyday life, love, and nature. The images elevate the ordinary into mythical events and scenarios, filling them with a sense of grandeur and mystery.
