Per il terzo appuntamento INSIDE, The Gallery Apart espone nella sua sede gli ultimi lavori di Alessandro Scarabello del quale sta presentando, in contemporanea, un precedente ciclo pittorico presso il Rialtosantambrogio di Roma.
Si tratta di una serie di oli e acrilici su tela che testimoniano l’evoluzione dell’approccio pittorico dell’artista, a partire dai materiali utilizzati. Rispetto alla produzione precedente, tutta rigorosamente ancorata alla tecnica dell’olio su tela, ecco prorompere l’uso dell’acrilico che consente a Scarabello di alternare le sue magistrali pennellate, tradizionalmente ricche di suggestioni e riferimenti alla storia dell’arte, con pennellate piatte e veloci che aggiungono richiami ad una visione mediatica e ancor più contemporanea, ulteriormente esaltata dall’introduzione di una scala cromatica arricchita e da una maggiore libertà nel gesto e nella costruzione dell’immagine.
Pur mantenendo l’attenzione alla realtà che lo circonda e il legame a personali esperienze di vita, Scarabello decide di lasciare più ampio spazio alle proprie visioni interiori, consapevole che la figurazione non può essere ristretta alla mera riproduzione del vero e che il vero è anche, nella vita e nella storia di ciascuno, la rappresentazione delle idee e dei concetti che portano alla definizione del profilo individuale e alla diversificazione dei percorsi esperienziali.
Resta immutato l’impegno sociale che sottende da sempre alla produzione pittorica di Scarabello, che questa volta ci parla di solitudine e dipendenza catodica, di stereotipi comportamentali, di assuefazione autodistruttiva all’avvelenamento dell’ambiente, insomma di quel malessere sociale contro il quale vale la pena battersi, anche se armati soltanto di tele e pennelli.

For the third edition of INSIDE, The Gallery Apart hosts the latest works of Alessandro Scarabello, who is simultaneously showing a series of earlier paintings at Rialtosantambrogio in Rome.
The latest series (oil and acrylic on canvas) testifies to an evolution of the artist’s pictorial approach, starting with the materials used. In comparison to his previous work, which was deeply anchored in oil on canvas techniques, the new use of acrylics allows Scarabello to alternate his magisterial strokes, which are traditionally rich with suggestion and references to the history of art, with flattened and quick strokes. This adds touches of a media-like vision that is ever more contemporary and further intensified by the introduction of an enriched color scale and by greater freedom in technique and in the construction of the image.
While keeping his attention focused on the reality that surrounds him and on his ties to his personal life experiences, Scarabello decides to give more space to his own internal visions. He is aware that the figure cannot be restricted only to the mere reproduction of what is real and that what is real is also, in life and in the history of each of us, the representation of ideas and concepts that bring about the definition of the individual and the differences in paths and experiences.
The social aspects that have always sustained Scarabello’s work remain unchanged. This time he touches on solitude and multimedia dependence, on behavioral stereotypes and the habit of self destruction, on the poisoning of the environment and ultimately on the social malaise which is worth fighting against, even if one is armed only with canvas and a brush.
