"His cutting edge work captures the heartbeat of contemporary photography."
- Try State Magazine
I break down examples of collectible and desirable photography into two subgroups. First there is the sort that captures a moment, a sideways glance or feeling without a trace of staginess and sometimes without even needing to be representational. The second is the kind of shot that records a formally blocked tableau and usually required for fashion and magazine work. What amazes me about Drasko is his competence at both, as well as his use and mastery of natural lighting throughout.

With raunchy style guaranteed to arouse Serbian-Canadian artist Drasko Bogdanovic is presenting, in a one night only event, a collection of provocative homo-erotic photographs. Depicting masculinity as a blend of portraits and nudes, his sexually charged and intimate photos play with the viewer and catch him in a game between a voyeur and an exhibitionist.
"Drasko loves men. Men love Drasko and trust him. He likes them naked. They like him to take charge. There is a bond. There is tension. The resulting photographs may cause some to break in a sweat."
- INCHES Magazine, 2009
Statement:
Drasko Bogdanovic (born 1977 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Yugoslavia) is a Bosnian-Canadian artist, portraitist and photographer of homoeroticism. He emigrated to Canada in 1996 where he took up digital photography. Bogdanovic was a classically trained musician and self taught painter before taking up photography. An early fascination with Hollywood magazines and black & white photography influenced Bogdanovic to juxtapose classical posture with natural light in his male nude photography. Today his landscape and architecture photography capture cities’ geometry, immutable personalities and intrinsic emotions; his photography has appeared in domestic newspapers and magazines and has been featured in local and national advertising campaigns.
