Associazione Koinè, with the partnership of the 24th Torino GLBT Film Festival that will take place since April the 23rd till April the 30th, and the sponsorship of Fondazione Artèvision, Arcigay and Regione Piemonte, invites you to AV Art Gallerie expository rooms in Via Santa Giulia 14/c and Via Mazzini 50 and Cinema Ambrosio halls (Corso Vittorio Emanuele 52), where Italian and foreign artists are exposing their works, somehow connected to glbt world.
This event is opening a new season in Torino’s cultural appointments panorama, getting day by day even thicker and more diversified. Its purpose is exploring glbt dimension through visual arts devices.
Deep artistic contents, locations and Torino urban context that’s going to be its scene, make the event a worthy opportunity to get closer to a hidden world survived across centuries, now finding a few ways to rise up and get known.
Glbt International is taking place since the last week of April till May the 10th, emerging artists and claimed ones are exposing their works:
Moxy Hart - world known South African artist, since a few years is focusing on male form and masculine beauty, his nudes and portraits have been shown in Melville, Cape Town e Hyde Park JHB;
Gianfranco Ragusano - talented carver, built up his background attending Academic Art School in Palermo, got his call for sculpture by artists like Antonio Tinaglia, Mariano Brusca, Salvatore Rizzati and Giuseppe Agnello;
Raffaella Campolieti - portraits painter, expressive talent gifted, studied Art in Naples then moved to Venice, where her works participated to solo and group exhibitions in some of the most suggestive locations;
Walter Rossignolo - lives and works in Torino, Fondazione Artèvision formed him as a photographer, he’s talented with realistic and aethereal style in the meantime;
Martha Cecilia Meza - Colombian painter, worked as art director in Bogotà and exhibited her works in many cultural events based in South America, she’s actually living and working in Italy;
Alessandro Capurso - photographer from Torino, whose pictures had great luck in several photography contests, as for instance “Torinoquidomani”, “IoEspongo – 2008” and “Tuttocittà – Luoghi Comuni”, he’s also arranging poetry and short tales;
Elena Rossella Lana - young artist from Lecce, where she’s living and studying, despite her age, her works already got many appreciations during local and international contests;
Alain Battiloro - artist and photographer, through his pictures narrates with great strength daylife reality and its multiple faces;
Roberto Minarda - another photographer from Torino, whose talent as an artist brought him cooperate with various important fashion, design and architecture magazines.
We’ll also host in our galleries some “guest works” by
Mario Molinari. No words can describe his gift as a sculptor, just say his works leave you enchanted, breathless, shocked, due to their disturbing stillness.
Their works, which deal with glbt issue by using sculpture, drawing, portraits and even picture, are meant for specialized and professional public, and a wider, heterogeneous audience in the meantime. Anyone could appreciate outer quality as much as the emotional and expressive charge they bring inside.
Definitive aim is pushing people awareness closer to glbt world, while it’s part of modern society, currently spread in all economic and social classes, through new points of view thanks to the artistic visual instruments.

In occasione del 24° Torino GLBT Film Festival che si terrà dal 23 al 30 Aprile 2009, AV Art Gallerie col partenariato di Associazione Koinè e il patrocinio di Arcigay e Regione Piemonte, vi invita presso gli spazi espositivi della Fondazione Artèvision in Via Santa Giulia 14/c e Via Mazzini 50, e presso il foyer del Cinema Ambrosio (Corso Vittorio Emanuele 52), dove saranno ospitati lavori di artisti italiani e stranieri connessi in vario modo al mondo glbt.
L’evento si inserisce nel panorama di appuntamenti artistici del capoluogo piemontese, sempre più ricco e diversificato, inaugurando una stagione di eventi culturali con un programma che intende esplorare la dimensione glbt attraverso gli strumenti artistici figurativi.
L’alto valore artistico, le location e il contesto urbano torinese che ne sarà teatro, fanno dell’evento un’occasione irripetibile per accostarsi a questo mondo per secoli sopravvissuto nell’ombra e che solamente negli ultimi anni sta scoprendo spiragli per emergere e farsi conoscere.
L’Internazionale glbt avrà luogo a partire dall’ultima settimana di Aprile e durerà sino al 10 Maggio, esporranno artisti emergenti ed affermati, quali: Moxy Hart - artista sudafricano di fama mondiale, da diversi anni dedica la sua attività alla rappresentazione delle forme e della bellezza maschili, i suoi nudi e i suoi ritratti sono stati esposti a Melville, Cape Town e Hyde Park JHB ; Gianfranco Ragusano - scultore di grande talento formatosi presso le Scuole e Accademie d’Arte palermitane, dove è stato allievo di artisti del calibro di Antonio Tinaglia, Mariano Brusca, Salvatore Rizzati e Giuseppe Agnello; Raffaella Campolieti - pittrice ritrattista di grande valore espressivo, si è formata nelle scuole di Napoli e Venezia, dove i suoi lavori sono stati esibiti al grande pubblico in alcune delle location di maggiore fascino; Walter Rossignolo - vive e lavora a Torino, dove si è formato come fotografo presso la Fondazione Artèvision, è dotato di uno stile realistico ed etereo al tempo stesso; Martha Cecilia Meza - pittrice colombiana, ha lavorato a Bogotà come curatrice d’arte ed esposto le sue opere in alcuni degli eventi artistici più importanti del Sudamerica, attualmente risiede e lavora in Italia; Alessandro Capurso - fotografo torinese i cui scatti hanno partecipato con grande successo a concorsi come “Torinoquidomani”, “IoEspongo – 2008” e “Tuttocittà – Luoghi Comuni”, si dedica anche ad attività letterarie componendo poesie e racconti brevi; Elena Rossella Lana - giovane artista di Lecce, città dove studia e lavora, nonostante la giovane età i suoi lavori hanno ricevuto numerosi riconoscimenti durante eventi e concorsi locali ed internazionali; Alain Battiloro - artista e fotografo, attraverso i suoi scatti racconta con grande forza la realtà quotidiana nelle sue molteplici manifestazioni; Roberto Minarda - altro fotografo torinese, sin dagli anni ’70 collabora con importanti riviste di moda, architettura e design, deve la propria fama anche al suo talento di fotografo artistico. Saranno inoltre presenti presso le nostre gallerie, in via del tutto eccezionale, le “guest opere” di Mario Molinari: preceduto dalla sua fama, le sue sculture incantano e sconvolgono per inquietante immobilità.
Questi lavori, che trattano l’argomento glbt spaziando dalla scultura, al disegno, al ritratto, sino alla fotografia artistica, intendono sia rivolgersi ad un pubblico specializzato di professionisti ed appassionati, sia avvicinare un pubblico sempre più vasto ed eterogeneo, che ne potrà apprezzare tanto la qualità intrinseca quanto la carica emotiva ed espressiva di cui sono vettori.
Fine ultimo è la sensibilizzazione al mondo glbt come parte della società occidentale contemporanea presente ormai in qualsiasi fascia sociale ed economica tramite la scoperta di nuovi punti di vista grazie allo strumento artistico visivo.
